HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY, AND ENVIRONMENT (HSSE) POLICY
This policy reflects good working practices and must be mandatory at all levels. The policy addresses the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) risks to all aspects of our operations and the potential impact on our staff, host communities, and the larger community, with strong management commitment at the highest level.
It shall be our policy as a Company to:
- Manage HSSE as a critical business activity
- Pursue our “No Harm to People and Environment” goal with Zero defects.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY
Flosmart, in compliance with statutory regulations of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, its HSE policy and requirement is to improve the health safety, and security of all workers. This will be achieved by educating the workforce on the hazards and health dangers associated with the use/ or abuse of drugs and alcohol through warning notices and talk during safety meetings. Flosmart sounds a strict warning during employment against drug and alcohol abuse. Therefore, taking alcohol or non-medically prescribed drugs during working hours or coming to work under the influence of alcohol is regarded as a grievous offense and attracts management wrath. Flosmart also ensures that employees are trained and become qualified first-aiders. Self-medication is strictly prohibited; only prescribed drugs shall be used.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE TESTING PROGRAMME
Pre-Employment Testing: All candidates for employment must complete a drug screening test before employment with the company with the outcome of a negative result.
Reasonable Cause: Where there is a reasonable suspicion or a good cause that drug abuse could be affecting a particular employee’s performance.
Government Requirement: This is carried out as required by the government.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Our policy in Flosmart concerning the immediate environment is to impact it AS LOW AS REASONABLY PRACTICABLE (ALARP), to achieve sustainable development.
Implications of our policy are:
- Flosmart will plan all her activities in such a way that her operations will not jeopardize natural resources.
- Flosmart will care, be diligent, prepare an environmental management plan (EMP), integrate EMP into the job life cycle, and adopt good housekeeping before, during, and after our jobs.
- Flosmart will operate in all projects to reduce:
Ozone layer depletion and Global warming.
Occupational/General health problems.
Contamination of surface/underground water.
Flooding and erosion.
Destruction of aquatic life.
Filtration of water bodies.
QUALITY ASSURANCE POLICY
It is Flosmart’s policy that all activities shall be planned and executed in such a manner as to meet the desired expectation of our clients by providing products and services that offer value in terms of quality, supported by adhering to requisite relevant specifications.
